Ornella De Nigris is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Sapienza University of Rome. Her present research focuses on two main topics: the museum of contemporary art in China, and the representation of Italian art in China during the Modern Era. In 2014, she received her PhD in Civilization of Asia and Africa from Sapienza University of Rome, defending a thesis on the museum of contemporary art in China. Since 2014 she has collaborated with Italian universities, as an adjunct professor of Chinese Art History at Carlo Bo' University in Urbino (2015-2017), and as a coordinator of the cultural activities of the Confucius Institue of Sapienza University of Rome (2013-2017). She has held numerous stays in Asia (2008-2018) for study and research. She regularly writes on international scientific journals and participates in national and international conference sessions.
