As a journalist and communication professional, I have been working with various publications and academic institutions especially focused on the issues on Asian countries and their citizens and also on Asian communities in the United States.

While working as a journalist, a good portion of my columns and reporting writings were focused on social, cultural and economic issues of Asian immigrants in the United States. Thus, I naturally got interested in the international relations amongst the United States and the Asian countries, which made me decide to pursue my Master’s degree in international relations at Columbia University. While studying international relations, I also worked at the United Nations as a program management support, where I developed and improved new online communication program to promote diversity and cross-cultural communications.

I had a great chance to live and work in Singapore, where the environment, culture and people are very much influenced by Chinese heritage. There I learned Chinese language and wrote for Asia Weekly / China daily. I also worked for several projects with Singapore Management University for its MBA program, writing cases for the executive students. 

In the U.S. I worked for the Kennesaw State University's Asian Studies department, teaching foreign language and Asian culture. Currently in the law school, I am a Juris Doctor candidate studying the international law, focusing on the US-Asia legal relations. I am planning to focus on the US-China relations and it cultural and legal development for my papers.
